Jas

Birthdate: 06/24/86

Bio: When asked about her career goals Jasmine usually replied sarcastically "Do I have a choice?" Jasmine's decision to pursue a career in radio came more by default that choice. Her Grandfather, Ruben Hughes, is an old head in the radio game beginning his career at age 16, he now owns and operates two radio stations in the Mississippi Delta. Her mother was a radio personality; her uncle is a program director. Radio has been a part of Jasmine's life since she was six years old and to her "there's no turning back". She remembers sneaking in the studio thumping Sam Brown, while a radio personality at WGNl, on the back of the head and running "back when he was SAMUELE" Despite this environmental factor, Jasmine says "I couldn't see myself doing anything else, its in my blood" She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work at the big station "A job where I can make a difference and have fun....it's priceless" Presently , she is one of the pioneers of Tougaloo College's new mass communication program. Leisurely, she dances for the Tougaloo Dancing Diva's, does pageants, and works with the children's church at Anderson United Methodist Church.
