They say it violates the collective bargaining agreement, and infringes on players’ rights. As expected, the NFL Players Union has filed a grievance over the league’s new National Anthem policy, which requires players to stand if they’re on the field. Any players who DON’T stand will be subject to fines and possible team penalties. The union claims the policy violates the collective bargaining agreement, and infringes on players’ rights. Grievances like these could take months to resolve, so this issue isn’t going anywhere. (You can read the union’s full statement, here.)
Buffalo Bills running back LESEAN MCCOY was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Delicia yesterday. It started when a friend of hers posted a graphic photo of Delicia’s battered face on Instagram. The post has since been deleted . . . but it pointed the finger at LeSean, and also accused him of beating his son and his dog, and using “illegal steroids.” The cops say Delicia was the victim of a “targeted home invasion” by a single intruder, and that during the altercation, the intruder demanded specific items from her. It’s unclear what those were, or if the cops think the intruder knew her. But one person DOES seem to think it was an inside job: Delicia’s lawyer. The lawyer didn’t outright accuse LeSean of orchestrating the attack . . . but it’s clearly implied. She said Delicia was sleeping when a man entered her home and pistol whipped her. The guy demanded specific items of jewelry that LeSean had given her, and the lawyer also said that before the incident, LeSean would, quote, “often suggest that she COULD be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.” LeSean is denying any involvement. He said, quote, “The totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false.” He also denies having any contact with Delicia in “months.” But TMZ reports that just last month, LeSean tried to have her removed from a home he owned through a court order. He also asked the judge to force her to give him back some stuff of his that she had.
